Privacy policy
Revertly is a Shopify app made by Nikao Industries (Pune, Maharashtra, India) that records changes to a merchant's products and lets the merchant undo them or restore deleted products. This policy explains what information the app uses when a merchant installs it, and how that information is handled.
Information the app accesses
- Product information from your store: titles, handles, descriptions, vendors, product types, status, tags, SEO title and description, options, variants (titles, prices, compare-at prices, SKUs, barcodes, weights and similar settings), product metafields, and image addresses and alt text.
- Store details: your store's domain, its number of products, and whether it is a development store.
- Subscription status for the app, from Shopify billing.
The app does not access your customers, orders, or your customers' personal information. It has permission to edit products, and uses it only when you confirm a restore in the app.
Information the app stores
- Your store's domain and the access token Shopify issues so the app can read and restore your products.
- The latest saved version of each product, so it can be restored if the product is deleted.
- A history of product changes (which field changed, its value before and after, and when), kept for your plan's history period: 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter, 90 days on Growth and 1 year on Pro.
- Nightly backup files of your products: the 7 most recent (30 on Pro). Older files are deleted automatically.
- Restores you run and their results.
Images themselves are not copied; the app stores their addresses on Shopify's CDN and uses them to re-attach images when you restore a product.
How information is used
Only to provide the app: showing your change history, restoring products when you ask, keeping backups, applying your plan's limits, and providing support when you contact us. We do not sell information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Backup downloads
On the Pro plan you can download backup files. Each download link is signed, works only for your store's file, and expires after one hour.
Service providers
The app, its database and your backups are hosted by Fly.io (servers in the United States), which processes this data on our behalf under its own security and confidentiality commitments. Payments for paid plans are handled entirely by Shopify; we never see your payment details.
Retention and deletion
- History older than your plan's history period, and older backup files, are deleted automatically.
- When you uninstall the app, its access to your store ends immediately and it stops recording changes. Your history is kept for 48 hours in case you reinstall; then Shopify asks us to erase the store's data, and we delete all of your history, saved product versions, backups and stored store details.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner, or ask what we hold, by emailing contact@nikaoindustries.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to the app's database and files is restricted to the people who operate the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
